Diabetes Info,Please help!?
October 29, 2008 - I have been looking up the symptoms on diabetes I have many off them. I feel really bad! However my local docters is not going to be open till Monday, A WHOLE WEEK. Im wondering if I can hold out a week or is there anything I can do to make myself feel better? Please Help
Some symptoms Ive got:
Headaches
Weakness
Joint pain
Fatigue
Rapid Heartbeat
HELP!
- the rapid heart beat needs imediate attention.. the others could be linked to something else and rest would help the other symptoms but you need attention now
- those could be symptoms of various ailments not necessarily diabetes, I'd say wait for the Doc before you panic, in the meantime check out this website http://diabetescontrolforlife.com/index.aspx
- Matthew, These could be symptoms of diabetes or something else entirely. Is there a walk-in clinic/urgent care center you could go to instead of waiting on your doctor to be back? Good luck.
Ok, you sound like you have a very high blood sugar! I'm not so sure you can hold out until next Monday, the longer your blood sugar is high, the more damage you're doing to your organs and brain. If there's a hospital ER open that you can get yourself to, even if it's in the nearest big city, I'd get myself there soon!! The only way you're going to really truly feel better is by doctors. Though I do recommend drinking plenty of water and other SUGAR-FREE beverages, and eating lower-calorie, lower carbohydrate foods until you get seen by a doctor. If you do have diabetes, it could take a few days of being in the hospital to get you fixed up and on the right track. Good luck to you! If you have any other questions, just e-mail me, I'd be more than happy to help you!
- are you over weight? Type II diabetes comes from eating too much sugar and you are overweight from years of eating a lot of sugar. Type I diabetes your born with and is diagnosed early in life.
- If you have rapid heart beat you should be going to the hopital now. You shouldn't put this off till next Monday.
- The 2 major signs of diabetes is excessive thirst and frequent urination. It sounds like you have something else to me,definitely see your doctor soon.
If you're feeling very ill then consider going to either a medical clinic or hospital emergency room. Most doctors make arrangements with other doctors to take their calls if they are out of the office. Call your doctor's office and see if the answering service can recommend another doctor for you. Diabetes can be serious if not dealt with promptly so don't take chances especially if you also have weight loss, unusual thirst and frequent urination.
